Thomson Reuters is pleased to announce the return of our Women’s Transformative Leadership Forum: Empowerment by Improving Participation and Representation on March 8-9, 2016 in New York City. Coinciding with International Women’s Day on March 8, this highlight program will address the various challenges affecting rising female stars and women’s leadership opportunities in some of the world’s most prestigious organizations. We will offer a blend of keynote plenaries and robust panel discussions that address enterprise level change and individual transformation as delivered by some of the most powerful women in law, business, government, and academia.

Panel Topic: A Seat at the Table: Defining Strategic Leadership for Women on Boards

Once an individual has secured a seat on a corporate board, offering a bold, meaningful, nuanced contribution is paramount for gaining influence and support. Corporate directors, tasked with a number of key responsibilities— overall policy decisions, fiduciary duty, company mission and vision, and the actions of corporate officers or executives—are expected to leverage their considerable expertise alongside that of their peers. But challenges arise when board members disagree over various matters or feel pressured to acquiesce on key decisions. This conversation examines best practices in engaging and participating on the board of directors in both large and small organizations. Our seasoned panel will share powerful advice on how to interact with peers and add tangible value to the board.
